About Piece of Cake Marquees
Hi, I'm Tom. I'm the managing director. I grew up on a smallholding in rural Kent and went on to work in pubs and restaurants, offices and farms, factories and warehouses, before moving to London for 12 years to be a journalist and magazine editor.
I love to throw fun and quirky parties, such as my annual friends-and-family village fête, which is where I found my love of vintage marquees.
In my spare time, I'm taking classes to be a stand-up storyteller and will be setting up a club in the New Year.
My favourite cake is Battenberg.
Hello! My name is Phia (short for Sophia) and I'm the operations manager.
I got involved with Piece of Cake when my friend Tom asked me to help with the bookkeeping. A few months later I was involved with all areas of the business. I love spreadsheets, colour-coding, and being organised and creative at the same time! Weddings are my favourite type of booking as being able to help make someone’s day special makes me very happy.
I love vintage, rustic and quirky styles and enjoy helping clients find and choose furniture and decorations to fill their marquee – so if you book with us feel free to chat with me about your ideas any time.
My favourite cake is Red Velvet.
Hey, I'm Dan. I'm the chief rigger and I also help with marketing. A little over four years ago I made the move from Coventry to London. Since then I've found a real home here, and enjoy spending time out meeting people in interesting places.
I'm a big fan of movies and a bit of an adventure seeker, and have always enjoyed doing creative, practical things.
My friend Tom offered me a chance to be part of a company that offered just that with Piece of Cake, and since our first booking I've loved being a part of the team.
My favourite cake is Angel.
